Read the drama of The Ruby Race in the sailing reports. We hope to have all the photos on the web very soon. The Ruby Race was dedicated to the memory of Derek Bryce, a long standing member of the club and ex club secretary. The schedule for the second Summer Series is now ready. General information about SBSC South Bank Sailing Club is based on the River Thames in south-west London. We sail all year round and have regular racing and social activities. We sail a variety of dinghies including Enterprises, Lasers, GP14s and Wayfarers. We welcome prospective members, and will arrange a taster sail for anyone interested. New members are always made welcome; we are happy to take them out sailing, and provide them with beginner and improver courses. The club has a number of boats which are available for members to hire at very reasonable rates. To find out more about us, please go to the Membership page.
We are now into the Second Summer Series but the new series sheet is not yet on the Sailing Schedule page, when it is it will be available for download too. Please check when you are on duty and put the dates in your diary or arrange a swap a.s.a.p.!
Club roles and general work We are looking for a new club Secretary. Is this something for you perhaps? If you think it might be, then please do discuss – with no obligation – with John Parke or Joe Driver, or in fact anyone on the General Committee. We also need a new club Sailing Secretary and the same thing applies.
Saturday Laser League The Laser League ended on 19 April and if our gurus can find time to update their somewhat under-cherished webpage, then we’re sure the results will be advertised there soon. The new League starts on Saturday 3rd May – so now is the time to head straight to the top! |
