Saturday League and Sailing Practice

Our Saturday sailing activities are informal and relaxed compared to the more formal Sunday race series.

Our aim is to encourage members to get out on the water to practice and hone their sailing skills.

It’s a good opportunity to have fun sailing in single and 2/3 handed boats in a relaxed setting with full safety boat cover.

We have a good selection of club boats for use by our members at very reasonable rates; 4 lasers - all fully XD equipped - with Full, Radial and 4.7 rigs to suit different weight or wind conditions, 1 Solo, 3 Enterprises, 2 Wayfarers, 2 Xenons and a GP14.

The format usually involves the group deciding what they want to do in a particular session; for example concentrating on one aspect of racing with useful tips from our more experienced sailors. You’ll have the chance to take part in 5 or 6 quite short Saturday league races, do your own thing or practice handling the safety boat.

The Saturday league is a light hearted affair with a variety of prizes at the end of the season
